The Charlemagne Group was
founded by Gregg M. Steinberg. 

Gregg is a 30 year veteran
of global business deals and operational involvement.  A unique business
executive who is measured by the triple bottom line brought to companies and
ventures that The Charlemagne Group either invests in, advises or both. 
Prior to the formal formation of The Charlemagne Group Gregg was the President and / or a Managing Officer of numerous companies, which combined,
formed the largest consulting firm in the world delivering a broad spectrum of
management consulting and other professional services solely to the small and
medium sized business marketplace.  Combined
the companies reached approximately 1,800+ employees throughout North America
and $250 million in annual revenue.  The
company was listed twice (both times in the 10) by INC. magazine
in the INC. 500.   When Gregg joined the company annual revenues less than $5 million, cumulative
revenues during his tenure as President exceeded $2 billion.
Earlier in his career Gregg held various
positions including, Vice President of a hotel management company, President of
a financial advisory firm, Assistant Director Mergers & Acquisitions for a
national investment banking firm, and Director of Corporate Finance for a
public accounting firm.
Gregg’s current and past affiliations and memberships include, Young Presidents Organization
(YPO), American Management Association (AMA), Turnaround Management Association
(TMA), Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), National Association of
Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA), Birthing of Giants ’99 (Entrepreneurial
forum sponsored by INC.
magazine, MIT and Young Entrepreneurs Organization (YEO)).
Within YPO-WPO, Gregg serves various roles, including;
Executive Committee Member and past Global Vice Chair Social Enterprise Networks
(which encompass sub networks on Economic
Development, Education Outreach, Sustainable Business, Humanitarian Health, Helping
Disadvantaged Kids, Family Philanthropy, Peace Action, and Global Diplomacy and
Public Policy Network), Global Champion YPO YSEN (Youth Social Enterprise), past
YPO member liaison to the Employee Stakeholder team and Management Committee
member of the Kellogg Foundation’s New Options Initiative for Out of School
Youth.

Gregg's
civic responsibilities include, current member
Board of Governors Weizmann Institute of Science (Rehovot, Israel, a
leading
global research institute), Current National Board Member and Past
Treasurer and National Executive Committee Member, and Past Chairman
Midwest Region American Committee for the Weizmann Institute
of Science, Past Co-Chair Midwest Board Operation HOPE (financial
literacy),
current Board Member and Officer Touchstones Discussion Project
(discussion
based learning), current Board member Executive Advisory Committee
William E. Simon
Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Rochester, and
current Board member the Institute for Global Leadership, Tufts
University.
He had a past lay leadership role with the Illinois
Commission on Diversity and Human Relations, he is also a past Board member
Jewish Community Centers of Chicago, past Board Member and Chairman for various committees, Jewish Council for Youth Services (Young
Men’s), past member of The Aspen Institute’s Middle East
Strategy Group, and Past member of the Board of Advisers Eller School of
Management, University of Arizona.
Gregg sat on the Board of The Quantum Group, Inc. at the time an Amex publicly traded company, was Chair of its Governance and
Nominations Committee and sat on its Executive and Compensation and Audit
Committees. 
Gregg is a past member of the US Chamber of
Commerce’s Small Business Council,  its Homeland Security
Task Force, its International Policy Council, its Business Civic Leadership
Council and the BCLC’s Working Group on Disaster Recovery.
Graduate of the University of Arizona, Bachelor of Science in
Business Administration.  Graduate of the Thunderbird School of Global
Management (formerly the American Graduate School of International Management),
Masters International Management / Masters Business Administration and
his formal education was conducted in the UK, Brazil, Canada, and the
US. 
Gregg was solely responsible for starting an
entrepreneurial forum made up of business leaders around North America.  The purpose of the forum was to expand entrepreneurial thinking by
looking at key issues outside of a typical business setting.
